Apply for Chinese tourist visa in Okinawa

Good news!! Now you can apply for Chinese tourist visa in Okinawa. You can go to New Overseas Chinese Association in Urasoe city. We contacted the staff there and she confirmed that they do tourist visa for US military SOFA passport holders. Here are some information.

Hi, for UK passport holders, you can only apply single entry or double entry visa. Please go to the Okinawa New Oversea Chinese Association IN PERSON, they do not accept application via mail or email. It will take 10-14 business days to proceed and they will call you to pick it up when ready. The cost for single entry is 10,000 yen and 14,000 yen if you want to apply by yourself. You will need the same documents as listed above when you apply.

I would like to inquire about a Visitor Visa. I am a U.S. citizen, who will be traveling from Tokyo, Japan to China, December 24, 2017, and on a Cargo Voyage. I am taking this cargo voyage because I am interesting is seeing China before returning home. The cargo ship will only be docked for 3 days ion the China coast.
I need to obtain a Visitor Visa for such. Would you be so kind as to explain what is required of me and what the cost is for this Visa.

My family plans on visiting Beijing, Shanghai, and Xi'an this July and now know that we require a visa. I was reading the posts about how to apply for a visa and saw the note that says not to use Airbnb. Please assist, we plan on using Airbnb for our stays in each city... is this going to be a problem? Thanks!

The easiest way to deal with this is to make a non-prepaid, cancellable hotel booking either through the hotel directly or through a reputable 3rd party booking agent. Provide confirmation with your visa application, then once visa is in hand, cancel the booking and proceed with your Airbnb stay. However, all foreigners are required to register your lodging within 24 or 48 hours upon arrival to the country. Our advice is that before you book a China airbnb, always contact the host first and ask for an INVITATION LETTER for you to show during your arrival at immigration.
